Infercallinfercall

The caller asks for a time. It lands in Google Calendar.

Connect Google Calendar to Infercall so your receptionist can create appointments during incoming calls. The enquiry and its details can reach the calendar you already use, instead of becoming another message to turn into a booking later.

You choose the Google account, the calendar and the receptionist allowed to use it.

What the Google Calendar integration does

Infercall can create a calendar event with its title, start and end time, and useful enquiry details. Its Google Calendar connection supports reading free/busy information; your configured booking rules determine the times your receptionist should use.

Appointment details can include the caller's name, phone number and notes about the request. Collect only what you need for that appointment. A calendar event is not a job dispatch, a clinical record or a payment.

Connect the calendar you actually work from

In Dashboard → Integrations, choose Google Calendar and connect the Google account you use for your business. Review the access requested, select the calendar and choose the receptionist that should use it.

Configure appointment types, durations and booking times around your working day. Check the timezone and which calendar the appointment reaches. If several people use your Google account, make sure you have selected the intended business calendar rather than a personal one.

Read the Google Calendar setup notes.

Check the result, not just the conversation

Use a representative enquiry and inspect the event in Google Calendar. Check its date, start and end times, title and caller details. Try a request outside your permitted booking times and a question your receptionist should pass to you.

If the calendar connection cannot create the appointment, the caller should not be told that it succeeded. Infercall's booking action reports the failure and can fall back to collecting contact details. Review that handover as part of your setup.

A booking is different from a booking link

Google Calendar creates an event through the connected calendar. Calendly creates a scheduling link that the caller uses to complete the booking. Choose Google Calendar when you want the appointment created during the conversation; choose the workflow that fits how you already manage bookings.

Common questions

Do I need a separate calendar application?

No. This connection uses Google Calendar. You do need to connect the correct Google account and grant the access required for the booking actions you enable.

Can I choose which calendar Infercall uses?

Yes. Select the calendar and receptionist during setup. Check a test appointment reaches that calendar before connecting customer calls.

Does this include appointment cancellation or rescheduling?

This page describes appointment creation. Do not assume cancellation, rescheduling or multi-staff scheduling is included in the same action. Confirm the workflow you need before relying on it.

Can it book without a paid Infercall plan?

You can explore your receptionist before choosing a plan. Handling business calls requires a paid plan and the applicable phone-number checks. See plans.
